A Book In Review.

Brief Summary:

When Desiree Washington ventures into the darkly glittering world of legendary singer Bebe Jones, she gets more than just a job. She gets a family in crisis, a diva meltdown, and a head full of stitches…
The Unraveling of Bebe Jones revolves around the rich and famous Jones family and the people who work for them as they cope through an array of personal dramas. The story begins at the height of the Global Financial Crisis, when 23-year-old Desiree Washington lands a job with her idol, legendary R&B singer Bebe Jones. Desiree quickly discovers that the outwardly perfect Bebe is in fact a troubled and lonely diva reeling from a career in decline and a marriage in tatters, and that behind all the money, glamor and fame, there are skeletons in the family closet. Throughout all of this Desiree seeks support from her best friend Sean Minton, an aspiring music producer who hails from the insulated world of New York’s black elite burdened with secrets of his own. Rounding out the cast are Bebe’s husband, Magnus Chadwick, a British hedge fund manager who cares more about money than family; her disgruntled household staff — all with strange ties to Bebe; and her children, brave casualties of their mother’s nightmare.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I was so excited to get caught up into Bebe’s world and couldn’t wait to find out how she’d figure everything out. I was intrigued by Sean and Desiree’s stories too, but Bebe’s struggling career and personal life really caught my eye. Everyone loves a good comeback story. I really enjoyed getting caught up in the world of the rich and very famous, I felt like I was rubbing elbows with Hollywood’s elite. I recommend this book 3 star book to anyone who likes a good solid story with twist and turns and a few skeletons in the closet along the way, xo!

Fall TV Preview!

I love Fall and one of the reasons is new shows to fall in love with! Nothing like a rainy cold Sunday to curl up and get sucked into a new series. Here’s a list of Fall shows I can’t wait to see!

  • The Vampire Diaries- we all know I’m obsessed with series. It’s by far my favorite show.
  • The Amazing Race- which is my favorite reality show ever.
  • Sleepy Hollow- only watched the pilot, but my Dad and I are hooked! Great fall/Halloween show
  • Grey’s & Revenge- I put this two together, cause they’re on my list, but I’ll most likely dvr.
  • Nashville- I still haven’t seen the season finale, I better get on that.
  • Hostages- only 13 episodes, but it looks amazing.
  • The Following- omg, I cannot wait.
  • PLL Halloween Special- Duh. After that Summer finale, I’m counting down the days.
  • Halloween Wars- it’s on food network and it involves pumpkin carving, desserts, and scary themes. Last year’s was legit.

Let me know what you’re most looking forward, until tomorrow, Xo!

Slow Cooker Sunday!

On Tuesday! I’ve decided to only blog during the week, hence why this is being posted today. I made this recipe on Sunday based off of this recipe. Here’s my take on it.

White Chicken Chili

Yields 6-1 cup servings

2 cans of black beans; drained and washed

2 cans of rotel; I used the orginial

3 chicken breasts

1 bag of frozen yellow corn

1 package of low fat cream cheese

1 1/4 tsps cumin

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tbsp ground cayenne pepper

Put the chicken breast at the bottom of the crockpot. (*Chicken can be frozen or defrosted) Add beans, corn, rotel. Add spices and mix top mixture. Put block of cream cheese on top. Set on high for 6 hours or low for 10. About half way thru mix in cream cheese. Half hour before serving take chicken out and shred, put chicken back in a stir well. Serve over tortilla chips with sour cream or shredded cheddar cheese & enjoy, Xo!

Has anybody else been streaming 20/20 experience part 2 on itunes?! I’m OBSESSED! I really love #OnlyWhenIWalkAway & #TKO so far. I can’t wait til it’s released so I can bump it in the car!

Red Carpet Style. Emmy’s.

Red Carpet Style. Emmy's.
I dream of walking the Red Carpet and this dress is exactly why. I would love for the chance for someone to ask me “Who are you wearing?” The earrings add the bling that the night calls for. Other than that, I’d play it simple with my accessories and my hair and makeup. Of course, I’d wear a new Marc Jacobs nail polish. Red Carpet Style. Emmy's
Think I’d end up on Fashion Police as best dressed of the night or the dreaded worst? Let me know, Xo!
