A book in review.

Brief Summary

Hilary had gotten used to dating the commitment-phobic Marc, thirteen years her senior. They had a great relationship–why rush into things? She saw no need to pressure him for marriage, believing that when the time was right, he would propose. But after they had been together for four years, their friends decided to take matters into their own hands, pushing Marc to propose and making Hilary realize how much she really did want to marry the man that she loved. Unfortunately, Marc still wasn’t ready–and their friends’ meddling in the form of a faux engagement party led to a disastrous New Year’s Eve that brought their relationship to an inevitable turning point.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book. It was a refreshing real story about love. I felt so connected to the main character, Hilary. This book is so honest about what happens in one’s head throughout the course of a relationship, the author does a good job of not sugar coating anything. It’s a great read that was hard to put down, I finished it in less than a day, I just needed to know what happened. I recommend this 5 star book as a book club book cause it would get you and your girlfriend’s thinking what you’d do in Hilary’s shoes or to anyone who likes a book about love that is real, xo!

  1. Thank you so much for your review Kayla! I really appreciate it! I am so glad you felt connected to “Hilary”. It is so hard to be a character and a real person at the same time 😉 I really tried not to sugar coat anything and show the good, bad and ugly about me and Marc. It was like therapy (and scary). It is funny, you always think about how you’d react in a situation, but until you live it… you never really know.. I would love to be part of a book club / girlfriend chat to learn everyone else’s take! Thanks again!
