See Ya March…

Phew, is it just me or did March FLY by? However, I can’t say I’m sad to see it go. The month and certain dates hold a lot of memories for me, so it’ll be nice to not be in a random bad mood cause of a date. (Disclosure; that’s not to say I’m in a good mood every other month of the year..) Anywho, today’s Easter, so I’m spending it with my mom’s side for a low-key late lunch. Easter’s never been a big holiday for my family, so it’s nice to not have to run around like a crazy trying to see everyone. I’ve made these ‘Cookie Dough Bars’ that I found on pinterest (here’s the recipe) with baby bestie last night during our girls night.

I hope they taste as good as they look! I saw the idea to do a chevron pattern on them here

Since the month kind of got away from me, I was looking through my drafts and realized I missed posting some really great things ( like ‘Mid Month Favorites’ and ‘Ides of March?’) so look for the ‘Mid Month Favorites’ post in April and for some other fun posts I’ve been working on. Thanks for joining me for another month, here’s to a better April! Xo

Throwback Saturday! Part 2

So here we are, it’s Saturday again! Which means here’s round two of my ‘Throwback Saturday’ (you can see last week’s here) This week I’m going to focus on some of my fave things from growing up…Let’s “Hop” to it..! (Like that Easter Bunny reference I did there..no? Oh, I’ll work on it)

Barbie was a staple in my house. (Okay, she still is.) She legit has it all…cars, shoes, clothes, houses, careers, boyfriends…Bitch has everything.

Who remembers Pogs?!? Omg, I loved collecting these little things. I was never 100% sure how to “play” pogs, but I just wanted to collect all the rad ones. And I had a heavy gold slammer that was out of this world cool.

I went to babytooth’s a couple of weeks ago and her brother (also my cousin) has been cleaning out their families basement to make a workshop space for himself. He took me down there to show me how it was coming along, but all I cared about was seeing if he kept any of our old playtoys. And sure enough, he kept all our favorites! I absolutely loved the Fisher Price Checkout Register! That thing was (and still is) one of my fave childhood toys. It kept us busy for hours.

I know last week I talked about what tv I was digging back in the day, but can we just talk about how awesome the game shows were?! Double Dare, Supermarket Sweep, Shop Til You Drop, Legends Of The Hidden Temple, Finders Keepers were all must sees in my house. Like why isn’t there anything like this now-a-days?! I’m talking a get your hands dirty, right there in it, type of game show. Or at least show us re-runs of the good ones! Until the next time I wanna take a trip down memory lane! Xo

  5. I like animals more than most people.
  6. In high school, I snuck out of the house a lot, always through the front door. Only got caught once.
  7. I don’t have any tattoos, but know exactly what and where I would get one whenever I decide to pull the trigger.
  8. I’m really afraid of needles hence why #7 hasn’t happened yet.
  9. Navy blue is my favorite color.
  10. Barbie has and will always be one of my role models.

A Book In Review.

I just finished ‘Kidnapped The Wrong Sister’ by Marie Kelly. I got this book on my free book rampage on bn.com and it was okay. The story was good, I just wasn’t blown away by it. The story is a case of mistaken identity (“Wow, K…really, we couldn’t tell from the title!”) and then the two become fast lovers and trouble ensues from there. It was a typical romance-y type book. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. For being free, it wasn’t bad. *Side note; I am really starting to hate happy endings in books. Like life doesn’t always end that way (rarely does), but all these damn books gotta be so happy happy. Womp womp womp, stupid. (I’m writing this in a semi-bad mood..) I think this is the first time I’ve given out spoilers, so if you took the time to read this, I’m sorry. Next up, is ‘Murder On The Mind’ by L.L. Bartlett. Here’s hoping it blows my socks off (and as I write this I’m in flats and not wearing socks. Whoops..) Xo.

a day in the life.

Yesterday afternoon, my Dad and I headed to the movies. He actually hasn’t been to the movies in years, so this was a pretty big deal for him. I let him pick and he chose ‘Olympus Has Fallen’. We went to a matinee, got some snacks and headed into the theater..

We were the only ones! And then 3 other people came in right as the previews started. I’ve decided no one goes to the movies during the day and it’s now my fave time to go. The movie was really, really good. It had a great story line and the action was second to none. I highly recommend it! After the movie, we headed to the butcher to get some meat for the week. (Our local butcher has some killer deals, I suggest you go take a peek at your local butcher shop and see if you can get your meats cheaper, you may be surprised at the prices..we were!)

Earlier in the day, I painted my nails ‘Too Too Hot’ by Essie, which was picked by baby bestie via text. The color makes me crave warmer weather and think of the beach, here’s hoping the weather follows in the footsteps of my mani/pedi color! Laters, Xo

Mascara Review #10

Week Ten

Sephora Collection Outrageous Volume Mascara in Ultra Black

s1357813-main-hero

Pros;

  1. The black color in this was really black and would be great for a night time mascara.
  2. It did volumize.

Cons;

  1. It comes off super easy. It came off when I got my hair done and my face got wet..I again looked like a raccoon.
  2. The brush was weird, it was hard to get good coverage on all my lashes. And the closer I got, mascara got all over my lids.

I wasn’t a huge fan of this mascara. I didn’t care for the formula or the brush. The only thing I really liked was the dark black color (which is strange cause I normally don’t like dark black mascaras..) I think I’ll keep this one on hand to put over a lengthening mascara. Want more info, head over here; http://www.sephora.com/product/productDetail.jsp?keyword=SEPHORA%20COLLECTION%20Outrageous%20Volume%20Mascara%20P303303&skuId=1357813&productId=P303303&_requestid=124265

This concludes my Lash Stash Mascara Reviews, hope you enjoyed them and got some good info out my posts. Until tomorrow, Xo.

Red Carpet Style.

Okay, so I lied…this isn’t a ‘Red Carpet Style’ post…it’s actually an Orange Carpet Style post!! That’s right my friends, this trip down the carpet is at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards! This is a super fun award show for, yup you guessed it, kids. Baby bestie and I love to have a girls’ night and watch the show and pick who we think will win in each category (she won last year..I’m taking her down this round tho..just wait.) But anyways, back to what I’d wear if I was strutting my stuff down the carpet. I’d rock a Herve Leger ombre one shoulder bandage dress, which I’d pair with these killer spiked peep toe Louboutins and metal frame nude clutch. I’d have a coral nail cause I love teal and coral together.

x

This look is a little more risky, but hey kids’ tell ya how they feel so either they’d like it or hate, it’s a risk I’d be more than willing to take! Xo.
